Fun! Fun! Fun!

Wow! The last part of May was a blast. This is probably the biggest post I've done and it's because we were busy having so much fun. Not only did school end, but we went turkey hunting and also had a family reunion. I've included pictures and details of the many things we did.

The Turkey Hunt!!

For memorial day weekend, we went to our favorite mountain and I tried my luck once more in filling my turkey tag. We went for a small hike and didn't find a trace of a turkey. We got back to our camp and decided to look around there, no sooner had Kyle used his calls to mimic a turkey that a turkey gobbled right back at us. I love that sound. We sat down and tried to see if we could call them all the way in but all we got was the hen and she came in real close. We decided to move and see if we could get closer and there they were, there were probably 5 or 6 gobblers in the group and they walked past us and I wasn't in position to shoot, so once they went behond the trees, I sat down and got ready. Kyle called again and they turned around and came out of the trees where I was able to get this young turkey. Not a big one but I was happy with my first turkey and to be able to say I got it while being 7 months pregnant. We hunted a bit more and did some fishing but I was the lucky one this year.

Happy Birthday Dad and Kirsten!!

My dad and my niece Kirsten share the same birthday so we of course had to celebrate. We hung out, opened presents and ate cake. We all had fun and it started us off on the big family reunion. We haven't been together as a family for just under three years, and i hadn't even met my kirsten yet and here we were celebrating her 2nd birthday. We had fun being squished all together in the house with sleeping bags and mattresses occupying every room. I must admit that Kyle and I had the luxury sweet in the trailor outside. Mom and Dad went to a lot of work to make the 5 days we had together to be spectacular so thanks Mom and Dad!!

The Hogle Zoo!!

We spent a day at the infamous Hogle Zoo. It was a lot of fun and more fun to see my nephews and nieces enjoy it so much. We did everything, we rode the train, went on the carousel, watched the bird show and visited every exhibit. It was hot, but it was slightly overcast so it wasn't to bad. Everyone was able to go except my poor hubby who had to be back at work. So while we partied, he went to work. He would then go home and work on our bedroom remodeling project til late every night (more details about this to come later). After the zoo, my mom and sisters thru me a baby shower. Mom made a ton of blankets and burps and is helping us get a car seat. Katie the scrapbooker, made me a ABC book that I can put her pictures in and Angela gave me a car seat cover that she had made along with many essentials a little one needs. I got spoiled by my aunts and cousins as well.

The Dinosaur Park!!

Grandma Mac treated all of us to a day at the dinosaur Park in Ogden. I didn't take very many pictures this day but here are a few. We saw all the different dinosaurs, dug for fossils, and played in the park. Afterwards we went and had lunch with Grandma and Grandpa Mac. For some reason I didn't get any pictures with them.

Back Yard Fun!!

We got out the old plastic (along with Jacey's new slip n' slide) and had a blast sliding down the hill in our backyard. I love all the faces that are being pulled as they slide down. Ethan preferred the warm water pool and Kirsten and Emree loved being able to do everything the older one's were doing. We had fabulous weather and loved every minute.





Luke of course was there for all of these adventures and he was such a good baby. I had to include his first official photo. Isn't he adorable!!

Gobble! Gobble!

Well it's that time of year again, when the turkeys start talking and we start stalking. We were lucky enough to be able to spend the weekend with our good friend Rick down south in hopes he could fill his turkey tag. We heard and saw a lot of turkeys but they weren't quite willing to leave their hens to come to us. We had what seemed like hurricane winds the full three days we were there so needless to say we didn't get much sleep but it's always worth it to escape the real world and get out camping. We also saw a couple of awesome looking houses that were built into the canyon rock wall. Kyle and I both have turkey tags in May so we will see how our hunts go. As you will notice I'm very much looking pregnant in these photos. By the way, Rick went back a week later and got a very nice turkey that we had previously labeled Sponge Bob No Beard.

Otter Creek

It's taken me awhile to post this great weekend we had with our friends Travis and Kristi at Otter Creek to do some fishing and hiking. We were able to troll in the boat for a couple of days and despite the wind it was fantastic. We each caught a few and I believe Kristi caught the most and the biggest. We each would have caught a dozen more but they'd hook up just fine but we were unable to get them to the boat. It was fun. We also spent one afternoon looking for horns but came up short except one spike horn that I found. It was nice to get out and excersice even though it just isn't as easy as it was now that I have a big tummy to lug around.

Its a.............

As you can see, she is absolutely adorable. That's right, I said she, we're having a girl!!! Everything in the ultrasound looked good and healthy and that made us very happy. In the ultrasound you can see her little body pretty well and the other one with her arms together. It's amazing to me to see how much she's already developed even though she still only 6-8 inches. Wow!!

The past few weeks

Luke is here! So we finally got to visit my sister Katie and her new baby boy, Luke. He was born on February 5th, weighing 7 pounds 10 ounces. He is so tiny and so cute. We didn't get enough of him. It made us excited for our own but realized once again what a huge adjustment it is going to be. Luke has wonderful sisters who are always wanting to hold and kiss him. It was fun to be with them. Thanks Katie for letting us visit. While we were there we were able to glass for bulls and bucks on the mountain we love. We did see a big cow elk herd and quite a few deer, but not the big bull we were hoping to find. We stopped and rabbit hunted but with no success. All in all it was a great weekend and hope to get back soon. Here is the newest addition to the Cowley Family.



Spoiled Rotten. I tell ya, I have the most wonderful husband. While I just make him pancakes with strawberries made into hearts, he gets me this gorgeous bouquet of flowers. I'm very lucky and grateful for everything he does for me.




Recently we were able to celebrate my grandma's 80th birhday. Wow what a landmark, I think that is so cool. We had a very nice lunch in Bountiful called "Joyluck." It was fun and we got to spend some time with the family. I didn't take many pictures but here are a few. Happy Birthday, Grandma.

Happy New Year!

We started off the year by going ice fishing. It was a beautiful day and we did rather well. Our good friend Travis came along and we had a great time. Between the three of us we caught 14 fish. Kyle and Travis both caught 6, while I only caught 2 (but in my defense may I add, that they were fishing with two poles to my one pole). I was able to catch a picture of a fish Kyle caught coming out of the hole, it was pretty cool. It was a lot of fun despite the moaning and cracking of the ice that we heard while being on it, kind of gave you a weird sensation. We hope you all had a great new years as well.
