Taytum LaRee Paxman
She is so adorable and was born on July 23rd, 2009. She weighed 6 pounds and 1 ounce and was 18 inches long. She looks just like her daddy and I love it. We went ahead and had an induction scheduled the day after my due date. The drugs were started at 11:30, Thursday morning. An hour later he broke my water and the contractions really started coming but with modern marvels such as the epidural, life wasn't to bad. At 2:30 I was dilated to a five and by 4:30 to an eight. The nurse said "I'll come check ya again at 6:30". Before the clock even turned 5:00 she was back in the room and I had dilated to a 10. She called the doctor and told us we'd do some pushing while we waited for the doc. I pushed through two contractions when the nurse suddenly looks worried and tells me we need to wait for the doc. At this point, she was already in the birth canal and as many of you know, this was not a very pleasant feeling. The nurse was trying to hide her worry but there was obviously too much bleeding and she was super worried, paging the doctor every minute. The doc came running in and was equally concerned, and said we needed to get her out now. Two pushes later and she was out. It was unreal, I never expected to deliver that quickly. Kyle got to cut the umbilical cord and they checked her over and despite everything she was good and healthy. It took the doctor over an hour to get me put back together again but it was amazing to sit and stare at this little being on my chest. She was so alert and we're so happy she's here. We came home saturday and we're officially on our own as first timers but we're happy and learning together. We just love our little Taytum!!!
